Movement Class

Dear creative community in Antwerp,

I'm Olga, I'm a dance artist, and I would like to invite you to join my movement class at BorgerHub on January 24 (Saturday) at 5 pm.

The class is open to everyone, regardless of prior experience in dance and other movement practices. It is important to bring an open mind and curiosity to create a shared space of exploration and ignition.

The class will start with a soft, somatic-based warm-up and will continue into a guided improvisation session, where we will move together continuously, traveling through different tasks, solo, in duos, trios, and all together as a whole. The tasks are rooted in contemporary dance techniques and instant composition practice. We will work with the space, weight, and textures of the movement.

Oh, and yes, the playlist for the class is meticulously curated by me. So I guarantee the music will be experimental enough to provoke creativity in movement.

Olga Uzikaeva (she/her) is a dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist originally from Vladivostok, currently living and working between Serbia and Belgium, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in Dance at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp / DeSingel International Arts Center. Olga’s artistic practice places interdisciplinarity at its core. She frequently collaborates with artists from various fields, including music, theatre, and visual and digital art. She has performed, taught workshops, and participated in artistic residencies across multiple locations in Europe. In her current artistic research, Olga explores the themes of borders and belonging, inspired by her own experience of migration and the search for 'home.'
